Community Advisory Team
CAT 2.0 Team
The Community Advisory Team (CAT) for the Southwest Local School District (SLSD) is a group formed to tackle specific challenges and improve engagement between the district and the community. The CAT's inaugural meeting on November 20, 2024, involved over 100 community members discussing key topics: finance and facilities, school safety and mental health, and programming and communications. Each topic featured presentations, Q&A sessions, and brainstorming to gather feedback and actionable recommendations. The CAT aims to address issues such as rapid population growth, mental health resources, and effective communication, while ensuring SLSD remains responsive and transparent to community needs. The team will continue exploring these areas in-depth in future meetings.
