Communication Between School and Families
All parents/guardians should log in to Final Forms and update their student’s forms. This is where we pull our information for communication purposes, so please be sure your information is up to date. This is also where you will go for instructions on how to access ProgressBook.

Direct link to Final Forms:  https://southwestharrison-oh.finalforms.com/

How do I obtain login information to access my student’s grades and report card?

To access ProgressBook/Parent Access login information, login to Final Forms and click on: Student/Parent Access Codes. All the information you need to create or access your account is here.

How does the district/school communicate information?

District - email using School Messenger, updates via Facebook/X (formerly Twitter) and website

School - weekly email at 3:00 PM on Fridays from the Principal using School Messenger, social media and website are used to post reminders only; all new information will be communicated through email/text (School Messenger).

Teachers - ProgressBook, weekly newsletters, etc.

Boosters/PTO - emails to members as appropriate, websites and social media

How do I email my student’s teacher?
All staff members’ email addresses are firstname.lastname@southwestschools.org

OR click here to access our staff directory.

Please note that it is our expectation that all phone calls and emails from families are returned within 24 business hours.

Cell Phones
It is our expectation that cell phones will be put away, out of sight, and not in use during instructional time or lunch.  In the event of an emergency, we ask that you please contact the Main Office at 513-367-4169 and we will be able to connect you with your student very quickly.  More details will follow regarding how the policy may be affected by the Ohio General Assembly’s recent directive on cell phone usage in schools.

Camp Wildcat – Class of 2028 (Incoming Freshmen)
We are pleased to present the 2024 edition of Camp Wildcat, to be hosted at William Henry Harrison High School on Thursday, August 8.  Students whose last names begin with the letters A - L will attend the presentation from 9:00 - 11:00 and students whose last names begin with the letters M - Z will attend the presentation from 12:00 - 2:00.  During this day, students will be able to learn about Harrison High School, pick up their class schedule, tour the building, obtain their laptop for the upcoming school year and pick up their Class of 2028 yard sign.  There is no charge for Camp Wildcat.

Please complete this registration form and plan to keep an eye on your email -- we will send a confirmation email with instructions a day or two before the event.  Please contact the Main Office at (513) 367-4169 with any questions.

Thank you and we hope to see you on Thursday, August 8!

Grade 10 – 12 Schedule Pick-Up/Laptop Distribution

Students in grades 10 – 12 can pick up their schedules on Friday, August 9 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM in The Commons.  Student schedules will also be viewable in ProgressBook.  Please note that students received a copy of their schedule during the last month of the school year, and any requests to change a class were due before the end of the school year.  Currently, we are unable to make any course changes.  We are planning on distributing laptops during the first week of school.  Any student who did not return their laptop at the end of the 2023-2024 school year will not be issued a new laptop but can borrow one each day to use while at school.

Student Parking
We are asking any student who plans to park in either the Activity Center (sophomores/juniors) or the High School (seniors) parking lot to please complete this application for a parking pass.  There is no charge for a parking pass, however, this helps us to track and monitor who is parking on our campus.  The application should be completed once per school year and can be turned in to the Main Office whenever a student is ready to begin parking on campus.

Arrival/Pick-Up
Our school day is the same as last year: 8:05 AM – 2:55 PM.  Doors open at 6:45 AM and all students should report to The Commons upon arrival.  Students should not remain in the building after school hours without teacher supervision.  Students who are not involved in a supervised after-school activity shall be required to be in the high school supervised Commons area or must leave both the high school and the Activity Center by 3:15 PM.

The bus for Diamond Oaks will be parked at the main entrance to the High School and will leave at 7:15 AM each morning.  Students should arrive five to ten minutes early to make sure they catch the bus; it returns each day at 2:40 PM.

PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO REVIEW THE ARRIVAL AND PICK-UP TRAFFIC INFORMATION FOUND HERE.

Food Service Information

Families are asked to complete and submit a Free/Reduced Meal Application for the 2024-2025 School Year if they would like to see if their students qualify for free or reduced meal prices based on the household income of all family members.  This window for applications will open after July 18, and will remain open for all families to complete prior to the start of the school year.  Please click the link below for the online application or you can pick up a paper application at any school, fill it out, and return it to the school.

Meet-the-Teacher Night – Weds 8/14
We are again hosting a Meet-the-Teacher Night on Wednesday, August 14 from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM.  This will be an opportunity to follow your student’s schedule and meet your student’s teachers.  Student schedules will be available for pickup in The Commons at 5:30 PM.

Back-to-School Highlighter Event – Fri 8/2
Church on Fire will host their annual Highlighter on Friday, August 2nd from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM; it is free and open to all SLSD families! They will be giving away 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, offering free haircuts, and will have food and games for the whole family.

School Fee Information
We will be applying student fees for the 2024-2025 school year in mid-September.  Once these fees have been added, I will let everyone know in the weekly email.  If your student has outstanding fees from a prior school year, please work now to resolve those obligations as we cannot give a student their diploma until all fees and obligations have been settled.  Please contact the Main Office with any questions.

PTO/Booster Organizations
Finally, we would like to invite you to join the Harrison Junior/Senior High PTO as well as our Booster organizations.  You can visit https://harrisonjrsrpto.membershiptoolkit.com/home to join the PTO, https://harrisonwildcats.membershiptoolkit.com/Home to join the Athletic Boosters, https://www.harrisonmusicboosters.com/ to join the Music Boosters and the Harrison CAT Boosters’ Facebook page to support the Vocal and Drama programs.
