Junior High and High School Concert Band: Band class has 4 concerts yearly, once per school quarter, for a grade. This is a cocurricular class we rehearse during school hours and perform in the activity center in the evening.  The band is open to all JS and HS students, 6th through 12th grades.

Co-curricular and Extracurricular options:

Marching Band/Color Guard (This is a lettering sport/activity with a recognized Senior Night): Open to all 7th-12th graders. Requires a 2 week band camp in July/August before school starts and practices 3 nights a week in the evening at the high school. They perform at halftime of football games and several Marching Band competitions a year. The season runs from late July Band Camp through early November for the last Competition or until the football team has completed their season, whichever ends last. Go Cats!

Jazz and Percussion Ensembles: These are specialized ensemble groups focusing on some more specific skills required for a free-flowing Jazz or for percussion. These groups meet after school a couple of times a week for practice and have performances at the end of the High School Concert on Concert Nights. Jazz students will have the opportunity to work in a smaller group to improve their skills in improvising as well as contemporary and classic jazz music.  Both Ensembles start up after marching band has concluded for the season.

Winter Guard: Open to any grade 6-12. You will learn how to work with specific color guard equipment including flags, rifles, sabers, and learn movement and dance skills. Students will compete in the MEPA contest circuit around 3-5 times a season. Rehearsal will be similar to marching band but guard only. This ensemble is directed by Mellisa Gouge. Information regarding schedule and auditions will be posted outside the band room in October

Brass Ensemble: open to any Brass playing student or students wanting to learn a brass instrument.  This ensemble meets 1-2 times a week and performs at each major concert.
